We are the people for the people!

                         Navy "Veterans"

This department of the Confederate Legion is designed so as to encourage Military Veterans to participate in our Confederate Ceremonial Honor Guard. Their membership will allow them to share their unique leadership and skills in a different arena. Only lawful, peaceful and honorable methods shall be used; we are neither a militia nor an armed force.

The Confederate Legion is a Military Ceremonial Honor Guard; it is neither a militia nor an armed force!   We are however military in nature and as such is divided into five departments; Army, Navy, Marines, Air Corps and Border Patrol.   Our interest is in attracting a large Navy Veterans membership, thereby creating a Navy Department which is as professional as possible.   The Confederate Legion will be reaching out to the general population which holds a variety of interests, which can be witnessed by our crowded mooring facilities in many so many harbors.   The ocean, lakes and inland bays hold a strong attraction and it is still true that a strong naval presence is essential to the survival of great nations.

The Confederate Legion Navy Department will not have any ships, or at least not until we are large enough to attract sufficient political influence and money to make it happen.   Then again, what type of ships could our Navy Department have?   Let me use the example of ships which teach young sailors true nautical skills, many which have been lost in our modern high tech navies of the world.   We combine plenty of old fashion nautical seamanship with the latest technology and launch the finest fleet on earth.   Many will say this is impossible and perhaps in the beginning it may seem out of reach, but numbers and political influence can attract the support needed for such a venture.  All this can be done lawfully, peacefully and honorably!

Let me use another example; Let us suppose for a moment we grow in numbers to where our Navy Department is front page prime time news.   Candidates for political office as well as industrialists would find it impossible to ignore us.   Quite frankly numbers and political influence attracts money, and with that money we could build a fleet of the finest fleet of sailing ships the world has ever witnessed.   There is no doubt there is a large number of Navy and Coast Guard Veterans across the land who would love to go to sea with the Confederate Legion Navy.   Naturally such an endeavor takes imagination and persistence and we’d be training an entire generation of future Confederate Sailors. How about you join with us and help make it happen?
