We are the people for the people!

  Marine Corps "Veterans"

This department of the Confederate Legion is designed so as to encourage Military Veterans to participate in our Confederate Ceremonial Honor Guard.  Their membership will allow them to share their unique leadership and skills in a different arena. Only lawful, peaceful and honorable methods shall be used; we are neither a militia nor an armed force. The Confederate Legion Marine Corps constitutes a division of the Navy and as such its National Commander will answer to the Navy Chief of Operations!

The Confederate Legion is a Military Ceremonial Honor Guard; it is neither a militia nor an armed force!   We are however military in nature and as such is divided into five departments; Army, Navy, Marines, Air Corps and Border Patrol.   Our interest is in attracting a large Navy Veterans membership, thereby creating a Navy Department which is as professional as possible.   The Confederate States Marine Corps was denied the opportunity to prove itself over the long years since the War for Confederate Independence.   However based upon the rolls of honor of Men of the South who have far to often been called upon to give their last full measure,   there can be little doubt, had the Confederacy won that great and terrible war, today’s Confederate States Marines would be the finest in the world.

However we are not here to look back in despair, rather to build a better tomorrow for future generations yet unborn.   We are a 'Confederate Ceremonial Honor Guard' and as such we are prepared to go the extra mile, but in doing so we asking you to travel the distance with us as Confederate Legion Marines.   Help us reach out to the general population and to so many impressionable young people who will be watching.   Our people need and must have examples in life and heroes if you like, and what better then those of their own people and nation.   Therefore we are particularly seeking Marine Veterans who will join our numbers and help build a Confederate Legion Marine Corps which is second to none.   Many of you remember the old cliche about having the right stuff!

The future we wish for our descendants is being fashioned today and we can ill afford to lay back in ease and expect the future to unfold by happen-chance.   Many will say that to build a Confederate Legion Marine Department with such high standards is impossible and perhaps in the beginning it may seem out of reach.   It is realized the task is hard and there will be disappointing moments ahead, but if we can muster that same grit as did our forefathers, a Marine Corps will arise which the finest to be is found anywhere.   Time, numbers and political influence will attract the support needed for such a venture, once we have proven ourselves.   All this can be done lawfully, peacefully and honorably!
